History: Jim Grey
Jim Grey is the retired City Planner for Nova City, taking the early retirement package a few years ago in order to pursue the next phase in the normal side of his life, "Grey Havens Environmental Consulting," specializing in helping companies design and deploy green technologies. He lives on the outskirts of town, in an engineered solar house on an inland lake. An adroit financial manager, he parlayed his six-figure salary and generous benefit package into enough money to live modestly for the remainder of his life. His consulting business is also successful, and provides extra money, while allowing him significant free time.

Grey is a widower; his wife died of breast cancer more than a decade ago. He has one son, Jeremy, who is a student at UC-Berkeley, studying Environmental Engineering.

History: Tesseract
Tesseract, Jim Grey's costumed alter ego, had an awakening shortly before leaving the City Planning office; he began to see shadows... images.. pictures of alternative realities overlaying our own. Scenes of pastoral beauty, and horrific landscapes, sometimes simultaneously. After a time it became clear he was seeing into other dimensions, and that, over time, he understood he could reach into these dimensions, and then move into them as well.

His powers grew, but he needed direction. A chance meeting in a Starbucks with a woman named Jessamyn Walters, who as it happened was a powerful sorceror, and helped him master his abilities. They became close, and are still in frequent contact.

Description: Jim Grey
Jim Grey is a tad over six feet tall, thinly built, with dark hair, greying slightly at the temples, and brilliant blue eyes. Now in his late 40s, he dresses well, and presents himself professionally, as befits a man of his station. Good-looking but not overly so, he seems comfortable in his own skin, and is a quietly happy, hard-working, and goal-oriented man in the prime of his life.

Description: Tesseract
Tesseract resembles nothing more than a ninja with a cape, with the exception of well-made, rubber-soled, black leather boots. A loose-fitting black and red outfit covers him, with just eye slits for vision. and his blue eyes, under the mask, are alert and watchful.
