No one is completely certain of the origins of the Dark Elves. The dominant theory is that they are what remains of the Elven colonization of Nestora. Driven underground by some unknown cataclysm and there in the deep, dark depths of the earth slowly driven to madness and evil by the terrible things they witnessed. What is known is that they are a reclusive and violent race that typically only venture to the surface to raid and plunder under the cover of darkness before vanishing again to the depths of the earth.

Playing a Dark Elf
If you choose to play a dark elf, modify your character as follows:

* Add 1 to your Dexterity ability.
* Pick one of the following ability focuses: Communication (Deception) or Perception (Seeing).
* You have Darkvision, which allows you to see up to 60 yards in darkness without a light source. You are also Light Sensitive, and suffer a -1 penalty on attack rolls while in direct sunlight.
* Your Speed is equal to 12 + Dexterity (minus armor penalty if applicable).
* You can speak and read Elven and the Common Tongue.

Roll twice on the Dark Elf Benefits table for additional benefits. Roll 2d6 and add the dice together. If you get the same result twice, re-roll until you get something different.
