Jazz Arawak (Eshu, Seelie)

Jazz Arawak appears like a tall but rough-looking Caribbean girl of 13. Her dreadlocks and tomboyish clothes make her look older than she is (approximately 17 or so). She has gold-speckled eyes, though, and a cute smile. If only she'd smarten herself up and take better care of herself, she'd probably be pretty. Not beautiful, mind. And yet, when she opens her mouth, she draws a crowd...

In her fae mien, Jazz appears far more androgynous. Indeed, she intentionally cultivates this look. She lacks the secondary sexual characteristics that would mark her as either gender. She is often mistaken for a man, or boy, but she doesn't mind - finding this gives her a kind of anonymity she can use to her advantage.

Count Jake 'The Duke' Carmine (Nocker, House Gwydion)

Count of Manchester, proxy of King Davey, and router of Dauntain, the Duke is a champion combatant, who trained as a duellist. It is under his aegis that Sir Franz was gifted overall control of the School of Duel. Count Jake is a Nocker, but noble nonetheless, and he has worked hard to get where he is now. He sees himself as a self-made man, a champion of the 'little man' (quite literally in some senses), and an honest, working-class chap done good.

He is a somewhat unattractive, stout man. His face looks like he's been working down a mine or in a Victorian mill. He is outspoken and proud, and though he understands etiquette, he is often aggressively anti-pretentious. This often sets him at odds with other nobles, who find him uncouth, and wish that King Davey had assigned them overall control of the city instead.

Lady Miriam Webster (Sidhe, House Scathach)

Chancellor of Count Jake Carmine. Miriam Webster masquerades as the proprietor of a joke and fancy dress shop called The Pink Banana on Richmond Street, on the edge of the Gay Village. She herself is one of the few sidhe in the city, but she hires Pookah staff to run the shop for her--primarily because Count Jake considers it the best way to channel their primal natures (read: keep them from interrupting his Very Important Business).

Lady Miriam is pretty, tall and well spoken. She defers to Count Jake, but often feels she is under-utilised, and that Count Jake uses her as a run-around or secretary rather than the chancellor she is. Her loyalty seems firm, however, and she is one of the few members of the court who is able to regularly deal with Countess Roisin of Salford without disagreement. For this reason, she is often the Count's emissary in official matters. Some reason that, given her House, this is only because she is also Unseelie.

Caoilfhionn Rose (Satyr, Court of Orphans, Cottonopolis)

Caoilfhionn (pronounced somewhere between Kee-lin, Kay-lin and Kwee-lin, but accepting anything from Colleen to Caitlyn) is the steward of the Seamstress and her so-called 'Court of Orphans'. Unusually for a satyr, she sports antlers that grow larger as she gets more impassioned. She is impressive and statuesque, and crouches when passing through doors, as if she were actually expecting to be much taller than she is. Indeed, she claims her father was a troll and her mother a satyr, which might go some way towards explaining her peculiar demeanour. Whatever the case, few in the court of Count Jake see her as anything other than Unseelie, and feel that she among all the changelings of Cottonopolis is goading the Seamstress to officially separate from the court to establish the Court of Orphans as an official governing body. The Seamstress, of course, would never admit to such things, claiming that unity in the service of magic (with or without the Special K) is the overriding concern of all magical beings in the county.

Sir Franz Hansbottom (Troll, House Gwydion)

A loyal knight in the employ of Count Jake and King Davey Wheelwright, Sir Franz runs the School of Duel. Recently, this freehold was immolated by the Red King, but Sir Franz is keen to prove himself to the Seamstress so that she might restore his balefire to its previous strength. Sir Franz escaped from the Red King's realm with the help of Bacchus Bloodbeard.
