Arms users.  These are the professions who focus almost exclusively on martial prowess and use only a minimal amount of spellcasting, if any at all.  The list below contains all of the arms professions in the game and where they may be found (not in alphabetical order).

Barbarian: An outdoors warrior who favours offense over defence (SoHK page 157)
Fighter: the Ultimate general purpose weapons profession (FRP page 92)
Layman: Generally used by non-adventuring NPCs (CL page 18)
Outrider: A mounted scout who typically works for an army (SoHK page 158)
Rogue: A thief-type class who places greater emphasis on combat (FRP page 94)
Sage: A mostly non-combatant who specializes in knowledge (SoHK page 159)
Swashbuckler: A traveling warrior who adapts techniques to blend them into his own unique style (SoHK page 160)
Thief: Your subterfuge and mechanical specialist (FRP page 93)
Warrior Monk: Your typical unarmed, unarmored warrior (CL page 17)

Arms professions must also choose from one of the three realms of power.  For most characters this is an incidental choice as few if any will spend much beyond minimal effort into learning how to cast spells but for those few who do the most significant factor will be how hard it will prove to cast spells in certain armor types.
