POSTING RATES AND ABSENCES

How often will I Post?

In an ideal situation, we would all be able to post daily, or (for those living a life of leisure) even multiple times a day.  My life is not ideal and I may, at times, go several days or even a week or more, without being able to issue quality posts because of that.  It should be apparent that my preference is for quality over quantity. I can often find myself needing to mull over what the (very creative!) players have posted in order to craft an appropriate reply.  That said, I try to post 4-5x/week -- often these will be Sunday/Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday, but that schedule is very flexible.

I will occasionally post a notice that I plan to be on-line and available to respond immediately, or for some specific length of time, and exchange multiple postings, - or I may provide a specific day at a given time where I can commit to an immediate response session.
(Please note that all times posted will be Eastern Standard Time.)

If I am unable to respond to IC threads for 3-4 days, I will try to post in advance to the OOC thread to give you an idea of when I will be able to respond to everyone.

How often should you Post?

For most storylines, to keep up with your fellow players, you need to be able to post a quality response in character at least twice a week; for some story-lines, to keep pace with other players you may need to post more often.  The only consequence if you don't keep up with the same frequency or quality as your fellow players is that your PC may end up sidelined during social scenes or even combat, and will not receive as much XP as others. Characters who post more often with quality responses will earn more - this should be an obvious corollary.

However, if your lack of participation surpasses 14 days without an in-character post, or if you fail to notify me a private message that you cannot post in-character - your character will be moved to lurker status, your PC will reassigned as an NPC. [Don't justify - Just be explicit and immediate.]  This is all of the prior notice you will receive from me. If in 7 after that deadline you remain non-communicative your character will enter the NPC roster permanently. Twenty one days without communication sends a clear message of lack of game commitment - my players and I deserve the same respect you'd like in return.  I don't think I'm really asking for too much.

The record status which records a player having logged onto the game or posts made OOC but not IC - do not count towards either active participation or an explicit notice of intended inactivity.
Post or Notify if you cannot Post - this isn't a difficult choice.
