Nornheimr society is described by the confluence of three separate cultures, most of whom currently inhabit the central Shiverplain Tundra and Black Forest of the nation state of Volovik. While some few thousand Aesgir live in Aesengard, a city of ice resting upon a plateau within the Wandergrat Mountains nearest to Valsegard “ the largest gathering of Norn one can expect to find is in the center of the iceplains at the seat of the High King of Hoelbrak.

The Aesgir, the Vanir, and the Cherkess plainsmen all together comprise Nornheimr Society. Volovik is a country of hostile polar living environs and artic conditions, the Wandergrat mountains to the east are permanently glaciated; the southern lowlands, a subalpine region, is covered by the black forest. Although towering the trees of the Forest dark are twisted largely due to only having the briefest periods of annual growth. West of the forest lays vast plains of alpine tundra, this is the only area where the soil is not limited by permafrost. The country is characterized by its harsh and brutal landscape, as it is shadowed by a nearly constant winter. Nearly a third the country to the North is covered by unrelenting glacial terrain. Such that the landscape allows for limited farming capacity; animal husbandry being the only means of producing consistent food. Volovik’s mountain regions are a resource rich environment and mining operations, smithing, and metal crafting are the countries primary product.

Volovik is the northern most on-continent nation of the Central empire, its closest imperial neighbors include the island-spire of Valsguard to the North and Ethangar to the South. West of Volovik and past the Wandergrat Mountains is the largest single open border to the unknown if any Imperial nation state. This border is constantly monitored by Volovik Men who seek to prove themselves ‘at war’ although their efforts are supported by several Imperial Armies. These armies include the strength and conviction of the White Blades and the Radiant Republic Army, themselves led by an Aesgir both terrible and mighty.
