Theturos has the most tactically capable land based military of the Central Empire, or so they believe. Its people are proud and its citizenry are comparatively well-off, although there is a cultural difference between being a “patriot of” and a “citizen of”  the state. Meaning that even though the state declares itself a republic it could be more accurately described as a caste system. Theturos most closely resembles Hellenistic Rome in culture and economy. A natural ally with both Athos and Kalishi as all three share some significant philosophical values, if not precisely the congruent practice of these values. All three, share a strong number of mid-level nobility [Aristocrats, Erudites, and Knights]The political situation is rife with intrigue, murder and horror and could easily be the setting for untold adventures.

Theturos people are varied and interesting but overall, tall rangy. City dwellers tend to be soft as relatively few suffer from hunger. Their military forces rely mostly on legionnaire infantry they are commanded by heavily armed armored cavaliers. Although Agarland pike-men, Scythian archers, and ‘irregulars’ of the Pulvar provinces are also prized.

Theturos is built upon the concept of allegiance and patronage toward others. The entire system of government depends upon the reciprocal ties between individuals and between families. These patron relationships is the basis of interconnected traditional loyalties often more binding than Imperial Law. A honorable person will publicly declare at least one Allegiance, by badge or heraldry. Individuals with no, or no known, allegiances are said to be little better than Greyshields and are not well-trusted in Theturos.

This city is a formidable center of commerce as well as the home of the Emperor of Theturos, Primus Romanus Titan. The troops based here are called the Black Legionaires and the Emperor’s personal bodyguard are known as the Black Dragons. The gates are guarded by great bronze portals. The wealthy travel about town in chariots. Artoro Prime’s residential population exceeds nearly 25,000 most of the time which is further inflated by the number of merchants, mercenaries, vassals, and liege men.
