Staff Lists

Junior Staff:  L1 Commoner
Cost:  Free

Junior Staff are generally young, have minimal skills,  and perform basic tasks - which is all a small household needs.  For example, a house servant keeps the house clean and might be able to make tea and toast or boil a couple of eggs.  If there is a kitchen, they can probably make a bland stew.  Labourers can pump bellows, fetch, carry and carry out other similarly basic jobs.  A doorman can direct visitors to the right area of your property and can deter crime by their presence.

Supervisors have a wider range of skills, and can look after one department of your holding,  and they can oversee one or two junior servants.  In a middling household, a cook/housekeeper might oversee a couple of household servants, and use the kitchen to prepare proper meals.  An assistant can run a team of labourers to make sure all of the mundane tasks are carried out -  and can use one of your workshops to make and repair mundane items.  Upgrading to House Guards, makes your property more secure, and is a very visible status symbol.

Senior staff oversee the running of whole sections of a larger holding, and few houses (or businesses) need more than one of each.  A Butler or Housekeeper oversees the house, while a Senior Assistant can run a Craft Workshop on your behalf and even make masterwork items.  Caster PCs might employ an Adept, who can create holy water, scrolls or potions, to oversee a chapel or magic lab.  While a guard commander, who visible organises your security arrangements, is a significant status symbol.
