Crane

Doji Tanaka - Crane Clan Champion.  Frequently seen in the company of a young girl known by the name of Nanako.  Rumor suggets that his wife and children are often outside of his court due to his unreasonable attachment to a geisha.

Doji Shioden - Former Emerald Champion.  Current custodian of Hantei Yasunori.  Presided over the duel between Heichi Batsuda and Matsu Dainoku (after the death of the other witness--conveniently, one of Shioden's wife's attendants--to Matsu Dainoku's murder of Mirumoto Chorude).  Marched the Emerald Legion on to Boar Lands in order to collect taxes that were supposedly withheld.  Failed to show up to the Emerald Championship and forfeited his position to Daidoji Yayoi.

Daidoji Yayoi - Current Emerald Champion.  Won the Emerald Championship in the absence of Doji Shioden.  Shioden had, reportedly, refused to even show up at the tournament--citing his duties as Emerald Champion, some business about the Boar Clan taxes--and Yayoi was declared Champion in his absence.  Shioden immediately challenged Yayoi on his return.  Foolishly, as it turned out, as Yayoi defeated Shioden quite handily--though, of course, Shioden always claimed that the rigors of the road impacted his performance on that day.

Doji Kusomari - Doji Functionary.  Impolite and really bad at his job, which is probably why he was assigned to be the desk manager in the Crab Embassy.  Yasuki Rin promptly fired him when he arrived in Kyuden Doji.  He may or may not have testimony regarding the death of Hiruma Daigo.

Daidoji Akito - Daidoji Bushi (probably Daidoji Heavy Regular School).  Bushi assigned to ensure Yasuki Rin isn't involved in a diplomatic incident.

Asahina Arimi - Asahina Shugenja.  Former diplomat to Mantis lands, exiled for crimes unknown.  Doesn't like Gusai Yuuno.

Asahina Higarashi - Asahina Shugenja.  Has terrible social skills.  Also, a crush on Yuuno.  It's the stuff comedies are made of.  Or tragedies.  Or both.

Doji Surunori and Asahina Akiko - Crane Magistrates.  Known for pursuing the truth at the cost of their careers.

Crab

Hiruma Daigo (deceased) - Crab Diplomat.  Known to be an opium dealer.

Hiruma Gokyu - Crab Bushi.  Kuni Kanagawa's yojimbo.  Head of the Crab Embassy.  Probably in over his head.

Kuni Kanagawa - Crab Shugenja.  Not good with earth spells.  Has wandering hands.

Hiruma Momoko - Crab Courtier.  Yasuki Rin's fig leaf.  Not too bad with diplomacy.

Dragon

Yukito Tomoe - Dragon Courtier.  Riozu's aunt.

Yukito Shiko - Dragon Shugenja.  Riozu's sister.

Others

Hantei Yasunori - fourth generation Imperial Hostage to the Gozoku, currently fostered to the Crane Clan.  In the custody of Doji Shioden (formerly Emerald Champion).  Twelve years old.  Enjoys ikebana and gardening.  She's a girl!

Kumo - mountain sized demon sea spider.  Because it's funny.  Also just because ᄽὁȍ ̪ őὀᄿ

Nanako - Eleven year old girl in the custody of Crane Clan Champion, Doji Tanaka.  Rumor has a lot of things to say such as that she's Tanaka's illegitimate daughter or even a secret scion of the Hantei.
