General Island Information
The Island Cluster is an isolated grouping of stars in the Great Rift of the Reft Sector.  Colonized by Asteroids converted into sublight sleeper ships that departed from Terra in 2050(AD).  It took almost 2500 years for the ships to arrive at their "new home".

With the Island Cluster being separated from the Imperium by 8 parsecs it's unclear exactly how and when contact was made with the islands but it was fairly recent, within the last 100-150 years.  It is rumored that the navy now operates a refueling station for ships traveling to and from the Island Cluster.  The scouts did a survey of the Islands around 40 years ago and the basic information has made it's way into reputable public databases.
