Darkwood is a thriving sea port on the Cornish Coast. As well as ferrying people between England and France it is a center for international trade with various countries and is especially renowned for its now rather clandestine opium trade with China.

Darkwood was originally a medieval port, dating back to 976 A.D. It later provided a military base for ships setting sale to the middle east during the time of the crusades. Now, in 1924, it is a thriving and cosmopolitan town that remains a thriving and modern leader that has fully embraced both Industrial revolutions whilst still maintaining its medieval history and character. It is also a centre for the arts and entertainment as well as being something of a mecca for the spiritualist and new age movements.
