The dogs - as one of the more easily bred-for-special-purposes species - come in several popular variants.
All of them have upgraded instinctive pack tactics (Legionnaire, only with other dogs, 3 CP), health (grant of aid with +4 bonus uses, requires one hour per use, 6 CP), enhanced speed (Celerity +10, 6 CP), and are extremely easy to train (3 CP on specific knowledge of working with humans, working with each other, and common commands). Dogs born in the Imperium default to Occult Sense (intrusions and disturbances in their territories, 6 CP) - but there are variants on that last bit.
- Imperial Mastiffs expand their Legionnaire effect to work with anyone and are bred and trained for war, gaining 3 SP in a Martial Art.
- Nighthounds can see unusually well in the dark and are capable of sharing their sensory impressions with a handler.
- Whiteeyes Hounds are a rare variation, that can see despite their apparently non-functional eyes and can see spirits as well.
- Rippers are noted for going berserk in combat. Unfortunately, unlike most order animals, they are somewhat unreliable, and are required to be kept contained when not working.
