Background Story
Isara was born in Phin. When she was barely 2, her mother died in childbirth with her younger brother, and a few months later her father's fishing boat was destroyed in a terrible storm. As she had no living relatives, and no one else was willing to take in a young girl, she was given into the care of the Church of Pelor and raised by Father Andris.

Andris was a kind and loving man, and taught his ward to be the same. Isara would go out of her way to rescue abandoned or wounded animals and do her best to nurse them back to health. She was a warm and friendly child, but she had few close friends- not only did she live apart from them, some of the older children claimed she was cursed. Ruby was one of the few friends that she made in Phin. When the oppurtunity to go to the castle came, Andris insisted she take the chance. Isara agreed, even as she hated leaving her beloved guardian behind, though she was somewhat happier when she learned that Ruby would be goin too.

Once she reached the castle, she dove into her studies. For the first time in her life, she had other children around her, and she welcomed the chance to make friends. For the first few years, when she wasn't studying, she could be found almost anywhere in the castle, talking to anyone who would talk to her. Each of her occasional trips into the city ended with her returning to the castle with a new helpless pet that she would care for until it was able to survive on its own. Andris was able to visit around once a year- she looked forward to his visits and was always sad for about a week when he left.
