The Adventure in the Sunless Citadel:

Day 1:

Our story began late in the summer when four people gathered in the Ol' Boar Inn in Oakhurst.  They each came for reasons of their own:

Milo Stronghill, a halfling paladin.  Milo was with a caravan that passed through Oakhurst.  His dog, Rancer, caused a caravan worker to drop a client's brandy.  The owner turned out to be Vurnor Leng, the mayor of Oakhurst.  Milo was forced to watch the caravan leave without him in order to stay behind and earn the money needed to get his dog back.

Boban Stronghill, a halfling rogue.  Boban heard that his brother Milo was passing through Oakhurst and decided to visit him after leaving his apprenticeship with his master.

Grimnir Kogamund, a dwarf fighter.  Grim came to Oakhurst because he heard that Kerowyn Hucrele had an employment opportunity.  His reason for being near Oakhurst was not initially known.

Annastrianna Brightleaf, a druid elf.  Anna was in the inn when Kerowyn Hucrele spoke about her problems.  Her reason for being in Oakhurst was not initially known.

The bartender, Caron, spoke about Sir Braford, a local hero and owner of the magic sword Shatterspike.  Sir Braford organized a group of people to find out where goblins were getting a pair of magical apples.  Goblins have been coming to Oakhurst for 12 years to auction the magical fruit.  The Midsummer apple is pure ruby red and heals all ailments.  The Midwinter apple is pale white and merely touching it can kill a man.  He recruited a party in Oakhurst and left on Midsummer, never to be seen again.

Kerowyn Hucrele has offered a reward of 125 gold per ring per person for the return of her brother and sister's signet rings.  She has offered to pay twice that amount if her siblings are returned alive.  They left with Sir Braford and another local man named Karakas about a month ago.  It's no secret that they went down the Old Road, the same direction that the goblins came from.

The Missing Party Members:

Sir Braford, human male paladin.
Talgen Hucrele, human fighter.
Sharwyn Hucrele, human female wizard.
Karakas, human male ranger.

The new party of four accepted the job and left immediately.  After a four hour journey, they found an unnatural ravine and tracked the missing party into its depths.  Inside, they found a strangely sunken fortress.

After dealing with dire rats, a pit trap and a trapped water elemental, the party set up camp (outside the locked door with the dragons on it) and rested for the night.

Day Two:

The party continued forward and met Meepo, a very sad kobold.  Meepo explained that he was the Keeper of the Dragon, a white wyrmling named Calcryx.  After some discussion, he led the party to Yusdrayl, the leader of the Dragon Clan of Kobolds.  They learned that Calcryx was stolen by the goblins and agreed to help the kobolds recover their pet, in exchange for safe passage through the kobold-held corridors and any two items on the back of Yusdrayl's throne.

Meepo led the party into the goblin-held corridors where they met a pair of goblins hiding at behind a low wall at the end of a caltrop strewn hall after accidentally triggering an alarm.  They pushed forward, killing one, but letting the other escape.  They met the surviving goblin along with four more goblins behind a second wall as they attacked with a full frontal assault, killing three more as two remaining goblins fled deeper into the citadel.

Badly injured, especially Annastrianna, the party returned with Meepo to the kobold-held corridors where they were given a heroes welcome and a room of their own to stay in.  Meepo stayed with them as Yusdrayl instructed kobolds to bring them food, blankets and ale.  The dead goblins were brought back and the party was given some of their belongings.

Day Three:

The party, still injured, left for Oakhurst.  Meepo and two others helped to carry Anna's litter.  Upon arrival, they were given a hero's welcome and Dem "Corkie" Nackle, the gnome cleric, healed many of their wounds.  They stayed at the Ol' Boar Inn for free as the town celebrated their return.

Day Four:

Tragedy greeted them the next morning as two guards were found slain at the edge of town.  They had been guarding 6 trees, grown from the magical apples that the goblins had been selling.  The trees were gone and the guards were covered in hundreds of wounds delivered from thin piercing weapons.  The party left town, tracking the markings leading away from the assault.  After an hour, the trail split.  Rather than continuing, they returned to the Sunless Citadel to resume their quest of finding the missing party members and helping Meepo recover his stolen dragon, Calcryx.

The party continued to explore the Citadel, eventually coming upon the great bloated rat called Guthash.  After slaying the beast and picking through the corpses left behind, they returned to the kobold colony to rest.

Day Five:

On their fifth day, they found the goblin stockade.  They met a gnome named Erky Timbers who kept himself alive by healing himself with the help of his gods.  The party had killed the jailers a few days previous and the other prisoners, kobolds, had all died.

They continued into the goblin-held corridors with Erky and Meepo at their sides.  Finally, they met Calcryx.  The little white dragon had broken free of its bonds and had built a small nest for itself.  Unfortunately, it didn't want to leave.  Carefully, they managed to subdue the dragon with non-lethal force and bring it back to the kobolds as promised.  In return, they were named honorary members of the Dragon Clan.

Upon their return to Oakhurst, Anna and Erky announced that they would be leaving the group to follow a lead concerning Anna's missing family.  They met a man named Will Hawklight who agreed to take her place.

Will Hawklight, human male cleric.  Will has been wandering around Daria and spreading the word of Oghma, his God.

Day Six:

On their way back to the Citadel, the party found the missing saplings.  To their horror, the trees attacked them!  The wounds they received were the same as those found on the dead guards, meaning that goblins hadn't attacked, the trees had come to life and killed the men instead.  After dealing with the trees, they returned to Oakhurst to inform the mayor of what they had learned.

Day Seven and Eight:

They returned to the Sunless Citadel and opened the magic door after many attempts.  The combination of scything blade trap and five skeletons in sarcophagi nearly killed them all, but they got away, with the ancient treasure.  They spent two night with the kobolds, healing and becoming friends.

Day Nine:
The party met up with Durrn (the goblin chief), Grenl (his advisor), a potted twig blight, six goblins and three hobgoblins.  The enormous fight was fought in the corridor outside of the goblins throne room.  Grenl was captured and Durrn was killed.  The party returned to the kobolds to rest and celebrate the end of the Durbuluk tribe.

Day Ten:
Grim eagerly purchased the key and the party went to the locked door that nobody had entered since before the fortress fell.  They found a strange crystalline globe which forced them to leave the area.  After several attempts, they gave up and returned to Durrn's throne room to see what was below it.

They climbed down the vines and found a compost pile with skeletal gardeners and a twig blight.  During this fight, Balsag appeared with his pets Grip and Fang.  The party defeated the enormous bugbear and claimed his morningstar, Skullcrusher, as their own.  They continued forward, defeating several groups of goblins silently as they went, slowly eliminating Belak's minions.

The party returned to Oakhurst.

Day Eleven and Twelve

The party spent two nights in Oakhurst, preparing for their confrontation with Belak.  Milo was joyously reunited with Rancer.  The group entered the sealed off chambers and used the Thunderstone to bypass the magical orb.  They were attacked by a quasit who guarded a large open pit.  The party was defeated and seriously poisoned, forcing them to retreat and return to Oakhurst.

Day Nineteen:

A week later found the party venturing forward once more.  They defeated several gardening bugbears and skeletons, but when Milo sensed a profound evil, they ran into difficulty.  An evil dark shadow rose up from under the statue of a rearing dragon.  Its touch was death and it drove the party back to the kobold-held halls to recuperate.

Day Twenty:

The next day, they returned to the Undead Shadow, fully prepared.  Boban and Will covered Kale and Grim with spells, so that when they attacked the Shadow, the fight was over practically before it began.  They proceeded to remove a few other minor threats in the local vicinity as they explored.

Day Twenty-One:

After a night with the kobolds, the group continued their search of the lower levels.  The party met up with a group of goblins standing at the edge of an enormous thorny briar.  As the battle ensued, ten twig blights joined in.  The party managed to defeat the enemy, but their injuries forced them to retreat into a nearby room to rest and recuperate.  Kale scouted ahead and saw a giant tree, an unknown man, a giant frog and two figures who appeared to be Sir Braford and Sharwyn Hucrele.

Day Twenty-One:

The party finally met the mysterious druid named Belak and his giant frog companion Kulket.  He was guarding the Gulthias tree.  Sir Braford and Sharwyn were there, but they had been killed and regrown as supplicants to the evil tree.  The party fought bravely and managed to defeat the two supplicants and the frog, but in the end, Belak escaped.  Yusdrayl led some kobolds down into the grove, chopped down the tree and burned the evil from the world.

Day Twenty-Two to Twenty-Nine:

The party returned to Oakhurst where they stayed for 3 days before returning to the Citadel to deal with the imp.  After the imp was dealt with, they returned to Oakhurst for 3 more days.  They were just about to seperate and continue their own lives when Vurnor asked them to come to his house on the night before they were to depart.
