A halfling from nearby Luiren, Brandt is a pacifistic and optimistic innkeeper with some training in the traditions of the unarmed warriors of his people, known as underfoot adepts. Among the founding settlers of Freehold, Brandt and his assistant, Marissa Brock, opened the village's first inn following the completion of the town center. He is a calm and private sort, respectful of others' differences and privy to much gossip and rumor (which he does not lightly repeat), but also occasionally given to fatherly lectures when he feels a guest or neighbor may be about to engage on a path which will result in ill will or damage to the community. He prefers to keep his faith private and tries to remain nonjudgmental of others' pasts.

Originally a PC, Brandt was converted to an influential NPC when his player retired shortly before the Pathfinder reboot of the game.
