- "Combat" Per 3.5 Rules for 3.5 characters, per Pathfinder rules for Pathfinder characters
- Meaningful Posting 2x/week: 10-50 XP/week
- Responding to "Tell the GM": 25 XP or per values stated in any survey
- RP Per Scene: 10-50 XP/scene
- Hooks: 10-25/hook
Further Explanation:
- "Combat:" This means overcoming any sort of obstacle, and does not necessarily mean actual fighting. You will receive standard XP awards for overcoming foes (by combat, deception, intimidation, diplomacy, or the like), figuring out puzzles or mysteries, defeating traps, or otherwise overcoming an obstacle of some sort. The standard rules won't always cover this by giving me easy DCs to assign to things, so there will be a bit of subjectivity to this.
- Meaningful Posting 2x/week: This means more than a couple of lines, and can be gained by interaction with NPCs, with other PCs, or the like. Alternatively, you can create an NPC to interact with-- or even role-playing your self-create NPC in interactions with other PCs. (Your GM may, at any point, take over the NPC mid-scene, and I reserve the right to reverse something -- you don't get to introduce "the richest man in the world" and then have him decide to give you 600 bazillion pieces of platinum.) You can come up with a location (a village; a shop in a you are visiting town). In other words, feel free to name the barmaid without waiting for me to have her come to your table; name the tavern you go to, instead of asking me to tell you what's there. I will keep track of these; they will become recurring elements if possible.
- Responding to any questions posted in "Tell the GM" (which I've not done for quite some time) or to a survey (which I make available on a periodic basis): This should be self-explanatory.
- RP Per Scene: This is GM-subjective, and is added at the conclusion of a "scene" (also often a subjective judgment, since scenes don't necessarily have a clean division). It is in addition to the "Meaningful Posting 2x/week."
- Hooks: This may overlap with "Meaningful Posting" and "Responding to 'Tell the GM.'" If so, you will get awards for all relevant categories. This refers to giving me something about your character that could be added to the story, used to come up with twists, or the like. Coming up with relatives, friends, enemies; developing relationships with NPCs; identifying things your character wants to accomplish; fears, hopes, dreams, etc.
XP through date will be separately PM'ed to each player; for those of you in the midst of a combat scene -- I will wait until the combat has ended, and will then let you know your total after that.
