Monsters of the Mirrorworld

Things that you don't want to meet.

The AfterDark:
The AfterDark appears when the sun goes down.  In the absence of light, it roams free over the Mirrorworld.  This horrible nightly creature has had a profound effect on the world.  All buildings and towns close up at night, windows are shuttered and doors are locked.

Thought to be composed of the tormented spirits of its victims, the AfterDark can be heard whispering into ears, enticing innocents to come outside where it can feed on their very life essence.  It does not appear to affect animals or lower life forms.

Very deadly and very dangerous.

Yaga:
Humanoid like creatures that hide within the flesh of normal humans.  Rarely encountered alone, Yaga are patient, tricky and cruel.  They live on the fringes of society, often performing tasks for rewards.

Strong and agile, the Yaga have a bite that can cause paralysis and unconsciousness.  The venom used for this can also be spit short distances or added to food and drink.

High Elves:
Once the most powerful of the Elvish tribes, the Great War destroyed the High Elves.  Driven mad and wielding powerful forbidden magics, these one time leaders of the Eldar Concordat now ravage land and sky, revelling in wanton destruction and leaving few survivors behind.  They are a feared travelling hazard as, lacking any settlement, they can be found roaming the lands, bringing ill fortune to all who cross their path.

Wyvern:
Dragonlike in appearance and standing twice the size of a large horse, Wyvern are aerial predators.  They can be encountered in packs or alone.  They have sharp claws on both arms and legs and their tail can either sport spikes or a heavy club-like appendage.

Noglodytes:
Barely reaching a humans kneecaps in height, Noglodytes are semi-intelligent creatures who live in small tribes that burrow into the ground.  They are not necessarily hostile but neither are they friendly.

Dire Malverines:
Large, powerful and almost twice the size of a normal Malverine.

Neanthals:
A very primitive offshoot of humans long believed to have become extinct.
