The world in a ... nutshell

Welcome!
Hopefully, you are already IN one of my games, visiting here to do research on what you CAN do in my game and what rules I have and others I've done away with.

These are more than house rules... this is a systemic rewrite of standard DnD's (d20) core functions. The nature of running an online game is wholely unlike running a live tabletop gathering.  Not LEAST because there is no beginning or end of a 'session'. The mechanic defined by Players and Game Master in THIS GAME is going to be an experiment in sharing the Narrative.

What does that mean?
... Well, I may be counting on those interested players to do more than post twice a week. Although I will presenting and maintaining a world, I encourage players to self-define the spaces between and beyond the most fundamental core values.  I will lay the groundwork of what a particular nation/race believes... it'll be up to you to build the Kingdom that rises from that foundation. If I present information later than you or after you ... this will approximate how a teenager learns the world around them.  The hidden secrets that those in power work to conceal from everyone. And some times are successful, but which YOU as adventurers may find out. Your characters may choose to bury these 'truths' ....or expose them to the world at large. Either way, your PCs and I, the GM,  will continue to evolve the plot.

With some little research, it would appear that Storyteller systems perform better (and tend to be are longer lasting) on RPOL than strategic map-based games  ...like DnD. And it has been my experience that players who share in world-building are more invested in the game.   However, roleplay by itself won't resolve all desires... because bonding a team and the story together occasionally requires visceral conflict.

And combat is simply better resolved with mechanics (that are often missing in Storyteller systems) ...thus I WILL be maintaining a system more akin to DnD than Whitewolf.  In this rewrite, I've endeavored to recreate some 'standard fantasy tropes' to draw strength from collected standard fiction ...though I may not rely on its mechanics.  World races and Cultures (Game Fiction) ; Basic Mechanics

Of course, you MIGHT be here because you want to learn more about what is going on... to peek behind the curtain. In both the story fiction AND the presumed mechanics.
