- The Lord-Captain Erasmus Galen needs to recruit new personnel from a tragic "incident" out in the Void, as well as wait for the repairs to finish. Meanwhile, he gets contracted from a reclusive Tech-Priest, codename: Magos, that hires Galen to retrieve a very specific and unique artefact from an old Mechanicus Installation on Xenthia IV, a lone moon to a giant gas planet out in the middle of nowhere.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- [Makks, the Ork Freebooter Boss, got frustrated over doing nothing for "too long" and challenged Grummz to see who was the Hardest and Meanest Ork of them. Grummz, with the help of the newly employed Rotgut and one scared Ork grunt, takes Makks down a few notches. But if this means that Makks will be more compliant, think again. He leaves his Boss laughing.]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- New crew members assemble. Doc Rotgut (Ork Chief Chirurgeon), Aelhiilion (Master of Etherics), Vette (Enginseer Prime), Riven Mantisse (Choir-master) and Jinksa Kosta'Din (Chief Bosun). When the motley crew was to leave, however, Aelhiilion was reported missing and did not board the ship. Her whereabouts are still unknown.

- Immediately, there are tensions on board the ship. Some looks down on the Xenos, some can't adjust to the dominative Imperial race. The High Factotum wants to make anyone not pure human feel unwelcome, Master Helmsmen thinks that inviting aliens is a huge mistake. Some of these conflicts are small, some are big, but everyone knows that there will be fights, there will be arguments. The psyker Riven Mantisse especially did feel most hated, shackled and tormented as Octia Wolf made her feel like the Grim Reaper walking the halls. Fortunately, the "prison" was nothing more than a section for the Astra Telepathica to find some reclusion and safety among much friendlier faces... psykers and armsmen both. But Galen will make this work, he believes it to be so.

- The Warp Guide, as nervous and pitiful she seems, makes sure that The Valkzam gets through the chaotic storms of the Warp without any major incident. After barely a week, the ship exits the wild whirlwinds to finally arrive at their destination... Xenthia IV. The only real incident is the sad loss of Doc Rotgut. The Ork wished to experiment some with the Warp energies, thus he got swallowed whole be the evil turbulences. The Orks may not have a soul, but that will not hinder the daemons to torment anyone who dares show their ugly face at them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- [Down on the surface there is the Mechanicus carcass. And old Tech-Priest base of some sort. And just as everyone expected, Xenthia IV was a dangerous trap. The Valkzam first sent down it's landing crew to retrieve loot and the artefact, but soon found themselves knee-dead among berserking "natives". Black-mask wearing primitive humans, to be exact, and equipped with fire-power and the numbers to severely outmatch the few Recon teams on the surface. Even as the Master of Arms. Grummz the Ork Boy, tries to help them out, there's still too many of them. But soon they found out that the black-masks were not the real threat at all, as soon a huge black monolith rose from the Mechanicus's base.]

- [With horror the team witnesses the disturbingly sentient automatons of the elusive and unfathomable Necron forces rise from the earth's crust. And as soon as they stood on their own two metallic, lifeless legs, they started butchering the primitives by the dozens. Oddly enough they left the crew of the Valkzam alone, claiming them to no be "paranoid, worshipping weaklings" and then merely watched as the Recon teams headed back to their ship. They got the loot and the artefact, now it's all just a smooth ride back to the mysterious "Magos".]

- But life is never easy, because as soon as The Valkzam starts to head for the Warp coordinates they are hailed by an unknown frequency. It's a rival Rogue Trader, goes by the name of Rovelus Droth, and as soon as the Lord-Captain Erasmus try to talk to the rival he instantly knows he's facing an arrogant jerk. This is a Rogue Trader who truly loves to let his enemies know how "inferior" they are to himself. And so the battle between The Valkzam and two Cobra-class Destroyers begin. It seemed odd though, as two destroyers versus one Dauntless-class Light Cruiser seemed not only unfair but suicidal for the rival. The Valkzam proved this soon to be correct as the ship completely annihilated the enemy ships. But, as everything else this far, it soon was proven to be a trap.

- The Valkzam now instead faces hundreds of destroyers, a handful of Light Cruisers and even a huge ship that Rovelus is on board. They were all hidden away in a nearby asteroid field, watching the spectacle all the time, it would seem. The Valkzam has no choice, it needs to escape this, and soon. Lord-Captain Erasmus Galen orders his Navigator to take them to a safe place far away from here, somewhere she would deem to be a "little sanctuary", to give the ship some time to rest, so to speak. She soon comes up with a great place to hide and before any of the enemy ships can even fire a single shot, The Valkzam escape through the Warp. Leaving all that mess with the black automatons and Rovelus behind.

- But the mess just can't stay far behind this time. The Geller fields fluctuate and turns off for a fraction of a moment. And thus all hell breaks loose on board. The entire Mechanicus/Technician crew go full out to repair and maintain the drives and engines, while the entire ship go full lock-down in every sector. Long story short, the Chief Bosun gathers a small crew to rid the people of any daemonic infestation and succeed. First Officer Hildegard Tehnnet finds out that her nerve-cells are being corrupted by an intense anomaly, and only with the help from the Chief Chirurgeon Lazarus does she get the anomaly safely removed. The storm quiets down as soon as it roared it would seem. But soon the really bad news hit the crew, the Master of Arms is dead.

- A far-off cantina among the lower decks of the ship is filled with crazed warp-induced imperials. They are raping anything female and killing former Tau friends without remorse, stewing their remains on the kitchen for some macabre ritual. This was not to be tolerated, as Chief Bosun was first on the scene to decide the next move. Also there was the Tau Merc-Leader Kauyon and the elusive agent of the handful of Eldars aboard, Edraniel. They were all expecting a gruesome fight with the crazed rapists inside, but it all turned out to be a quick death for such animals instead, without honour or a fighting chance. Jinksa Kosta'Din orders the Tech-Priest Master of Etherics to instead turn off the life-systems in the cantina instead, and lock the doors. Their deaths was silent as none found a way to escape, but this also meant that anyone innocent inside would die with them. A less painful price to pay than having even more innocent killed because of foolish idea of heroism.

- After having to endure so much, having to loose so many, the crew and its ship finally find themselves facing the new-found Forge-World of Wergel's Footing. Though the journey has been stressful and exhausting, to say the least, they now can hopefully breath easy for a while... and perhaps strike some nice deals along the course. The artefact claimed from Xenthia IV, though, still remains undelivered and a complete mystery of its importance to The Valkzam and its Explorers.

- But before Lord-Captain Erasmus Galen, and his stalwart crew of misfits, can even set their foot on Wergel's Footing, they are hailed by the local security fleet of the sector. The exchange is filled with caution and mistrust, but it's still brief and ultimately in Galen's favour. The Valkzam is granted access to the planet's surface, and soon the Lord-Captain finds out that he's actually expected by the planet's own Council.

- As Erasmus plans to leave with his trusted secretary and Purser, Iliea Luneh, and his silent but stalwart bodyguard, Three, the Lord-Captain is soon being requested to also be escorted by the new Master of Arms (who is on a Trial period), who is a fellow armsmen on the ship called Cutter, a small retinue of armsmen, the Enginseer Prime Vette herself, the mysterious Eldar Banshee agent Edraniel and the Chief Chirurgeon Lazarus! Quite a gang to be walking on the streets of an Imperial Hive-World-turning-Forge-World, but they are all prepared to fit in as best they can.

- Down on the planet though, things get very interesting, and quite confusing, as soon as Erasmus takes the first step on the still developing world of industry. The two representatives of the Council and the world's government are a very comely lass in a beautifully adorned and masterfully extravagant, deep-red dress. The other is a extremely emotionless and quite mysterious gentleman who immediately introduces himself as Lovander Tassius, and before long Erasmus comes to both find him useful and yet very dangerous.

- As Galen, Three and Ilia are led by the lively Lady and the deathly-cold Lovander, the rest take their opportunity for some shopping spree as well as wandering the city, taking in the local flavours. After buying a few tools for the engines and the patients, Cutter, Vette, Lazarus and Edraniel then heads to a local, nearby pub of sorts. Their intent was to both get something relaxing to eat in an equally relaxing atmosphere, but to also avoid some glaring looks from the local Arbitrator Forces.

- Galen soon finds himself in front of the entire Council, answering questions mostly based on nothing solid at all, paranoia and suspicions. Thankfully, no one seems to have any real grasp of Erasmus or his origins from the Imperium. It's relatively painless, the entire procedure, and before Erasmus knows it he's granted full acceptance to exit and enter the system of Wergel, with the blessing of the government. Say what you want about overly paranoid idiots in a government, but they do see a profitable relationship when it comes knocking on their door.

- The bar is where the other gang now also meet Novus, a very untrustworthy and dangerous individual that wants nothing to do with the Imperium. Though he finds the newly arrived gang of misfits entering the same bar that he is in, he now has to pay attention to the arriving Arbitrators as well. A few arbitrators acting very suspiciously as they confront the group. More specifically, they seem to actually target Edraniel, who is masked and disguised as a Sister Sororitas at this point, without any real solid proof that she isn't what she says she is. Strange.

- And things are also getting very interesting in the Chambers of the Council of Wergel's Footing as well. Erasmus, Ilia and Three are all invited in a quick meeting over some dinner by Lovander and the Lady, who actually is Lady Theresa Wergel III, the Queen of Wergel's Footing and the entire system. This meeting turns from a lot of business deals between Erasmus and Lovander, with plans of actually building a Hub-Space Port and also buying a Frigate to add to Galen's dynasty, to something far more sinister. Lovander seems to actively coax Galen into a corner, insulting him to be untrustworthy and perhaps someone of questionable allegiance to the Imperium. After hearing a very compassionate retort from the Lord-Captain though, Lovander reveals that this meeting was a half business transaction and half set-up. A trap of sneaky politics and dangerous schemes. Lovander is someone who should never be trusted outside contracts. He is also revealed to be the Head of the local Administratum as well, and a man who only trust people as far as contracts can take them.

- As a grumpy and grumbling Erasmus leaves with a much relieved Ilia and confused Three, the three of them is soon stopped by the very House that Kim actually is the sole inheritor of. The House she trusted to care for the emergency visit to Wergel's Footing. It's the infamous House Mercator...

- In the bar things go really bad, real quick. There's some back and forth between Edraniel and the Arbitrators, thinking that she is a Battle Sister, then that she is lying, back to believing her and then finally pointing a gun at her face. As Novus also steps in things truly start escalating. Then the level-headed Iacton Boh, Ahnwat and his Tau colleague. As soon as things goes of the edge, and the leading Arbitrator shoots his own friend in a way to falsely accuse the rest of murdering an officer of the Law, Iacton, Ahnwat, his Tau accomplice and Novus all quickly take the side of Cutter and his gang... and a good ol' bar-fight ensues. Rifles, shotguns, Hellguns and a lot of revolvers fires back and forth in salvoes of bullets and heated beams. In just a few moments, the rest of the corrupted Arbitrators are dead, and only one is left outside, trying to call to... someone. She is soon surrounded by Cutter and the gang, and she hesitantly surrenders.

- Long story short, it turns out that the entire event with the small unit of Arbitrators are not official enforcers of the Law, not according to the actual Arbitrator Captain of this section of the City. As he arrives with a whole army of Arbitrators, he dismisses the surviving Abitrator of the bar-fight and then let's the gang go as well, with a warning to not stir up more trouble.

- Erasmus is also quickly led to the local headquarters of House Mercator and the entire meeting comes down to two things. He is slapped slightly on the wrist for not calling them before he arrived, but then is welcomed as the very important guest that he is, and a close ally to the House. And then he is also warned about changing times for the Expanse itself, how very disturbing rumours are spreading throughout the various sectors and systems. Turns out that Rovelus Droth is actually on a huge crusade to turn the Expanse to a real part of the Imperium, with a massive fleet that Erasmus isn't having a chance to fight straight on. After the meeting though, Galen is also given a very neat little gift, an assassin-bodyguard named Eli Black. Not unlike Three, Eli is trained to care for other's safety and killing others.

- And so the entire affair with Wergel's Footing is concluded this day. After Erasmus goes and finishes the business deal with Lovander, the Lord-Captain leaves the system with a new ship, Captained by his former First-Officer Hildegard Tehnnet, and has Helga Zander as the new First Officer of The Valkzam. Before going back to Magos though, Galen needs to scout out a fitting solar-system to build it in. Somewhere remoter, yet safe.
